I’m saying all this because I’m amazed at the craziness that surfaces in my head. It doesn’t bombard me every day, don’t get me wrong. But from time to time, junk shows up I thought I’d taken care of years ago — relatively straightforward stuff, like speaking in a pleasant tone to my wife when I feel she’s done something stupid or not getting miffed when someone cuts me off on the road.
