It could be true but you can't use that to conclude on why you didn't sell. You know why? David Goggins book has sold millions. He wasn't a New York Times reporter before that. Publishers rejected his book and told him it won't sell. He didn't have the audience then either. But, his book after self publishing became a best seller. Now, the reason I'm saying this is that when it comes to the things that contribute to a book selling, it's a lot. And it’s not only the audience you have alone.
